About Chickenshed:

At Chickenshed, we nurture and empower children, young people and adults with all abilities and from all backgrounds through our education courses, workshops and shows.

1 in 4 of the individuals we welcome have a label of disability or disadvantage attached to them, reflecting and resulting in challenges in their lives including exclusion from mainstream education and other social settings.

We celebrate and champion difference, allowing everyone to achieve their potential in a safe, inclusive environment.

We give platforms to young people, so that they can create and deliver their own projects in the community.

In this way, we know that they will change hearts and minds and transform the institutions that play a crucial role in their experience of inclusion.

What we’re raising money for:

We want to raise money to enable our young people to share the projects that they have designed and experienced, so they can become inclusive change-makers within their communities.

Each of the following youth-led projects costs £10,000 to deliver.

•(L)able is a project which tackles issues of bullying, labelling and peer pressure experienced by young people in their communities. This funding will enable members of our youth theatre to take creative workshops into local Secondary Schools and help provide the pupils with some vital tools for life.

•Every Child a Dreamer is a project which enables children to use the power of their imagination to contribute to social change. Designed by our Children’s Theatre members, this funding will provide the tools and training for them to take the ideas back into their school to launch their own Dreamer campaign.

•Day One Big School is an outreach project and performance aimed at preventing peer-pressure, gang-related activity and knife crime by working with 9, 10 and 11 year olds, (School Years 5 & 6), prior to their transition to starting secondary school.

Fundraising on the night:

We want you to come and enjoy our amazing performance, learn more about our youth-led projects and explore the different ways in which you can engage with us.

One of our goals is to introduce new people to Chickenshed so we would love you to invite someone along to experience our work for the first-time – whether from your personal or work address book.
•There will be raffle tickets on sale on the night for £10 a strip, (cash).
•There will be an appeal to raise money for the above youth-led projects.
•We will have contactless pay points on the evening for those wishing to pledge up to £30 towards our projects
•There will be a finance desk for those who wish to pledge more than £30 or give in a different way, e.g. cheque.

There are a number of ways that you can also help us aside from making a donation. We will share more information on the nigh
