This October, in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Westfield Stratford City is delighted to announce its partnership with Breast Cancer Care.

To celebrate Westfield Stratford City’s first charity campaign, the centre will host Breast Cancer Care’s ‘Pink Friday’ on Friday 28th October, with a special appearance to be confirmed.

Pamper pretty

To support Breast Cancer Care, Westfield Stratford City and over 60 of the centre’s retailers, from fashion and leisure to food and beverage, are offering special treats, offers and activity to raise funds for the charity.

Westfield Stratford City will unleash its inner pink and light ‘The Street’ and the M&S Café Bridge with magnificent pink lighting as well as dedicate prominent mall space on the first floor by John Lewis, for free pampering and beauty treatments.

Come along for a hand massage from L’Occitane, makeovers by Bobbi Brown and Body Shop or a chic East London manicure from, Wah Nails. There will be samples from Kiehl’s, cupcakes from Buttercup and food from across the globe via the Great Eastern Market who will be sampling all day.

And no respectable ‘Pink Friday’ event is complete without cheerleaders (the ‘Surrey Twisters’ will perform at 3pm) and a gospel choir (East Ham’s finest ‘Revelation’ will perform at 6pm).

Judy Beard, Breast Cancer Care’s Director of Fundraising said

‘There are over 6000 people across Hackney, Waltham Forest and Newham living with a diagnosis of breast cancer. We want to be there for each and every person and their friends and families too. That’s why we are so grateful for the support of Westfield Stratford City and all the participating retailers. Without them we simply couldn’t continue to provide our free services. Thank you.

Pink Fridays is our biggest fundraising campaign throughout October and it’s really easy for anyone to get involved. It can include anything from a tea break in the office with pink food and drinks, to wearing something pink to your morning meetings.’

Myf Ryan, General Manager Marketing Westfield UK said

‘We have been delighted to work with Breast Cancer Care for Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. Westfield Stratford City recently opened to record breaking numbers and this is our first charity partnership. Wanting to do something for our female customer base we chose a cause that resonates with many women and their families. Working with many of our retailers we seek to raise money and awareness for such an important cause.’

In store experience

Retailers like Searcy’s champagne bar will launch a new pink Rose for the occasion with a donation going to charity. They have generously contributed an exclusive Pink Champagne Experience for up to six friends to the raffle.

Fashion Rocks has designed a new pink t-shirt in collaboration with Breast Cancer Care to raise awareness and funds for the charity. Pop in for a free t-shirt with every purchase.

Make sure you also make time to stop at Vero Moda, Forever 21, John Lewis, Aspinal and Goldsmiths boutique for in store experiences including pampering, manicures, beauty treatments, music and food to give the girls that Friday feeling! For West End singers head to John Lewis from 5pm, and for those of you, who prefer your music from a turn table, check out the in store ‘pink’ DJ in Forever 21.
