INSPIRING MOROCCO ARRIVES AT HARRODS

From Shakespeare’s Othello to Sir Winston Churchill’s memoirs and paintings, Morocco has been inspiring British culture for centuries. Now, this enchanted country is heading for London, bringing with it a unique and insightful cultural exhibition. Hosted at luxury Knightsbridge store Harrods, “Inspiring Morocco” will recreate an authentic Riad in store from 24th October until 18th December. The exhibition will showcase the best of the country’s art, craftsmanship and cuisine throughout the store, giving visitors a taste of both the traditional and contemporary wonders of Morocco.

Where traditional design meets contemporary style:

On the Third Floor, master artisans have hand-crafted a stunning traditional Moroccan arched riad, enriched with ornate zellige tiles and intricate woodcarving, complete with a marble fountain centerpiece. Inspiring Morocco will be London’s only authentic Moroccan venue where exquisite handicrafts, including kaftans, textiles, leather goods and ceramics, and beautifully handcrafted filigree (copperworks), will be showcased and available for purchase or order.

Moreover, paintings, photography and kaftans from some of the country’s most esteemed and up-and-coming artistic talent will be exhibited. And for a moment of relaxation, customers can recline in the opulent settings of a Moroccan tea room and enjoy complimentary Moroccan mint tea and sweets.

In addition to the exhibits, each Saturday and Sunday from 5th November, a range of authentic Moroccan experiences will be available for shoppers to enjoy, including traditional henna tattoos, calligraphy and live ‘oud’ music. In the Urban Retreat spa, an exclusive range of luxury beauty products made with indigenous Moroccan ingredients such as argan oil, rose and rhassoul will be available for a limited period only.

Where authentic cuisine meets modern flavour:

Food lovers can get a taste of Morocco’s famed and distinctive cuisine within the store’s iconic Food Halls on the Ground Floor, where a handpicked selection of the best Moroccan produce will be available to taste and take home, including exotic spices and delicacies; argan oil; couscous and tagine dishes. Meanwhile, a section of the Fourth Floor Georgian Restaurant will be transformed into a Moroccan-inspired dining experience with an exclusive menu featuring signature dishes from various regions of the country and prepared by Moroccan Chef Moha of the famous Dar Moha in Marrakech.
