Philips drawings and installations are created using the patterns and semiotics that can be found in everyday occurrences, his work is fundamentally based on the objective nature of peoples perception and the social hierarchies that they are place within.
The subject of this exhibition is Health and Safety. Philip exposes the fact that Health and Safety artefacts have become prominent in the everyday environment, however these are generally taken for granted. This work has been created to make us aware of the everyday signs and patterns of the healthcare industry by presenting them back to us on a monumental level. In order to capture the festive spirit of this time of year Philip has chosen a particular colour scheme for this work. Provoking an emotion in us in a more subtle way then other seasonal displays may be.
Philips work in the past includes landscape interaction and regeneration projects as well as smaller scale prints and dazzle graphics. His work is always innovative, always aesthetically impressive and often thought provoking, encouraging us to have another and better look at the world around us.
