The Vibe Gallery and monamas Theatre Company present
AGAMEMNON by Aeschylus
In a new translation by Dimitra Kokkini
Greek tragedy is not all foreign; much is very close to home, often too close for comfort. “T. S. Eliot”
Agamemnon is the opening play in a trilogy, the Oresteia, which is considered to be the greatest Greek tragedy. Aeschylus presents our lives not only as a painful series of recognitions but as an initiation into stronger states of consciousness. Treachery; revenge; lust and moral corruption presented in a way that evokes both tragedy and humour.
