London singing competition for Open Mic UK: The singing competition dates for this year’s Open Mic UK singing competition have been announced, and with over 9,000 entrants last year, the 2013 London singing competition is set to be the biggest yet! The London singing competition Open Mic UK is brought to you by Future Music who have already discovered such acts as; Birdy, Hatty Keane, Jahmene Douglas and Lucy Spraggan through previous years. The London singing competition Open Mic UK begins its search for the UK’s best vocalists, singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists.

The singing competition Open Mic UK which takes place in London is one of the largest national music competitions for singers and solo artists in the UK, and the singing competition is coming to London soon! The Open Mic UK singing competition travels across the country every year in search of the UK's best singers, singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists. Acts can perform either covers or original material and will perform live in front of an industry specialist judging panel.

Those who make it through the singing competition’s auditions will go on to perform across the UK in live showcases complete with an audience and judging panel in some of the UKs most prestigious live music venues. By entering for the Open Mic UK singing competition, acts have the chance to progress through the competition to play the Grand Final within the UKs most recognised live music venue, The O2 in London.

The singing competition’s live showcase judging panels are made up of music industry specialists, A&R, vocal coaches and guest celebrities. Gracing the judging panel in previous years has been Radio 1 DJ’s Annie Nightingale and Ras Kwame, Radio Kiss FM’s Charlie Hedges and Mark Hill an Ivor and Novello award winner, who are hopefully set to make another appearance for the 2013 competition!

There are plenty of opportunities for acts that enter the Open Mic UK singing competition to win prizes throughout the competition with over £50,000 worth of prizes up for grabs, including a main prize of £5,000 cash to the overall winner! The winning act will be crowned in front of a packed out crowd within The O2 in London!

The Open Mic UK singing competition is divided into age categories - Under 16, 17-21, and 21 and over, so all ages are welcome to enter. All types of singers, vocal performers, groups and acoustic singer/songwriters are invited to enter Open Mic UK.
