Story Jam is a monthly storytelling night. Fast, feisty and fun, we bring you cracking tales from top tellers, for the grown-ups.
This month brings you...

THE 3 SWORDS
with EMILY PARRISH

A baby in a birch basket is kidnapped by an eagle. A King is taken hostage by 3 ferocious Sea Trolls. 3 Princesses await their fate. And somewhere in the deep, dark forest of magic and memory, a long forgotten sword glints in the moonlight.

(Warning: contains trolls. Audience members are advised to leave your princesses and gold safely at home.)

Emily performs myths, legends, folktales, fairy tales and epics. An avid ‘story collector’ as well as teller, we're lucky to catch her when she's not on her travels around the world.
She also runs ‘ScandalNights’ at the Tom Thumb Theatre, Margate. We love her!

PLUS
CAT GERRARD (& Italo Calvino)

Cooking up a Storm
in a tale that brings you some Italian (kitchen) sorcery.
Impregnation, prophecy & fish fingers...
Just back from cycling across America, Cat is the powerhouse behind Tailspin's Night Of The Storyteller, and a member of Pandvani 108, one of the most exciting mass storytelling shows touring the country. Prepare to be swept away by one of her magical, physical, comical stories.

STEPHE HARROP AND HER FIVE MINUTE CHALLENGE
We are going Nordic with a clash of Icelandic Epics. Well, sort of.
Witness STEPHE HARROP condensing the Laxdaela Saga
Versus
ANDREW BARNETT JONES reinterpreting the story of Kitla Maour.

Our very own Stephe has been challenged to this epic duel by Andrew Barnett Jones of The Black Sheep comedy team, winner of the Crick Crack Club's 666th Lying Contest (2012). Five minutes per epic. Can they do it? Place your bets, Ladies and Gentlemen.
And singing his beautiful songs, Story Jam is very excited to welcome musical marvel DARREN CLARK.
Darren plays a plethora of instruments and sings songs full of stories to make your heart leap, break and swell.
Darren is so good other people get him to write their stuff too. Composer, lyricist, musical director, sound designer, his work has been performed at The Camden Roundhouse, Jackson’s Lane, The New Diorama, Hoxton Hall, The Croydon Clocktower and The Victoria & Albert Museum. He came all the way from New Zealand. We're glad he's here.

And ALYS TORRANCE, your hostess, may have a quick little tale about social embarrassment, if you're feeling naughty...

Not been to a night like this before? Bring a friend or two and see what storytelling is all about.
Already hooked on storytelling? You're in for a treat.
Come early and eat, drink, order interval refreshments, and bag the best seats in the house!
