Jumoké Fashola brings her eclectic Jazz Verse Jukebox to the Elgar Room as established poets and singers explore what it means to be a 21st century ‘modern day griot’. Featuring Trinidadian-born poet, novelist and musician Anthony Joseph; singer and BBC vocal coach Carrie Grant; poet and playwright Inua Ellams, whose style is as influenced by classic literature as it is by hip hop; and John Siddique, one of the most influential British writers of South Asian heritage. All this, plus live music from the Jazz Verse Jukebox Quartet.
