Mardi Gras Mambo presents: Meet Me in New Orleans

They all asked for you...
Following the blistering success of The Darktown Strutters’ Ball, Mardi Gras Mambo is back for the summer and this time- we swing!

Swing out to the hottest stomps and rags from old time New Orleans as we transport you to a time of glitz and raw glamour to celebrate the roots of swing music. The Savoy Ballroom exploding in Harlem and the birth of Lindy Hop- neither would have been possible without the special breed of New Orleans musicians who brought their spice and laid the foundation for the big band sound.

The Dixie Ticklers
With their red hot take on early jazz, stomping and a wailing, The Ticklers bring a slice of authentic New Orleans to Hackney, revisiting and transforming classic New Orleans tunes.

The Fallen Heroes
New Orleans heritage runs in their blood- these cats rock out on the dirtiest shuffles, swing and RnB, mixing the classics with killer originals. The perfect high-energy pairing for the perfect Bayou escapade...

DJ Lil’ Koko
One time resident of the Treme and half of the Mardi Gras Mambo founding crew, DJ Lil' Koko keeps the vinyl cooking all night spinning rare New Orleans RnB, jump jive and swing.

Angela Andrew featuring Jitterbugs
One of the pioneers of the Lindy Hop, Frankie Manning, called this London based dance club “The home of happy feet”. Frankie’s former assistant and internationally acclaimed dance teacher sensation Angela ‘Cookie’ Andrews- performs with her troupe, the Cotton Clubbers’- this is not be missed!

King JJ cooks up the finest gumbo with cornbread and pralines to fuel our late night Lindy frolics

No one does New Orleans music like Mardi Gras Mambo- a unique collective of pioneering London based musicians, DJ’s and writers who live and breathe all things Crescent City.
