Time to celebrate all things Scratch!

Over 10 years ago we started inviting audiences to work-in-progress showings from our artists. ‘Scratch’, as it became known, is now at the heart of our mission to invent the future of theatre, placing the artist and audience in a creative dialogue to develop new ideas.

This summer we’re putting on a festival to celebrate Scratch and all the great shows that have emerged from it, from Jerry Springer the Opera to 1927’s The Animals and The Children Took To the Streets, from Kate Tempest’s Brand New Ancients to The Paper Cinema’s Odyssey.

Look out for brand new work from Adrian Howells, Made In China, RashDash and Sleepwalk Collective and others, developed here at Battersea Arts Centre.

Scratch allows artists to test ideas and get audience feedback. Come explore and be the first to discover the future of theatre. Scratch on Twitter: #BACScratch
