Ann’s bleak but beautiful work could be said to represent a collection of ‘existential rooms’ where human figures are frequently lacking but a sense of narrative is present. There is often a feeling of isolation and loneliness; of struggle, but also of hope.

'Nordic blood rolls in Ann’s veins and this is how the music of her colours play. Subdued, whispering, like tones in a minor key. Ann is a highly original artist, a rare bird of the kind who suddenly visits us from who knows where'. (Ole Lindboe: art editor of Danish magazine Kunst).

Private view: Saturday 1 June, 7-9PM (entry is free and no ticket is required). Ann is coming from Denmark to greet guests and to talk about her work. We look forward to giving her a warm welcome.

Please bring a bottle. All liquid donations will be shared equally amongst guests.

Also showing: paintings from the 'Young Picassos', a local art history and painting club for children run by Razeetha Ram and photography from Katie Eleanor.
