Sensational South African soprano Pretty Yende has been in increasing demand ever since stepping in last-minute for Cecilia Bartoli in Theater an der Wien’s Le Comte Ory. Winner of Plácido Domingo’s 2011 Operalia Competition, Pretty studied in South Africa before completing her training at the Accademia Teatro La Scala, Milan. She has since gone on to star in productions at some of the world’s most prestigious opera houses, including La Scala, Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Metropolitan Opera House in New York.

We welcome Pretty to London for her recital debut at Wigmore Hall, performing a programme of songs by Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Liszt, Debussy, Weill, Gershwin and Bernstein. James Vaughan provides accompaniment
