Now an established summer event of music and fun for all, the Waterloo Festival returns for the third consecutive year celebrating the area of Waterloo and its rich diversity past and present, this time with the theme of ‘War and Communities’. A host of people and organisations are converging on St John’s Waterloo, not least actors from the National Theatre and the Kreutzer Quartet performing World and UK premières. St John’s Waterloo on Waterloo Road, London SE1 8TY is hosting multiple day and evening events, including classical concerts, music and art workshops and exhibitions, guided walks around Waterloo covering the area’s history, a Sunday afternoon fête, workshops for the public and involving the inner city’s schools, a tea dance and much more. The Waterloo Festival caters for all ages, encompassing the local community and as well as a wider audience, who can sit back and listen or enjoy taking part. Admission is free for some activities and performances.
