Rye Mummers and CLF Art Cafe presents Samuel Beckett's 'Endgame' at The Bussey Building, Peckham
"Nothing is funnier than unhappiness" [Nell]
'Endgame' is one of the great plays of the 20th Century - a hymn to the vicissitudes of old age - a post-apocalyptic reverie on man's nihilistic destiny. Set inside a human skull, it's an avant-garde essay on the nuclear family and care in the community - an exploration of the absurdity of life and the nonsensical possibility of love.
Featuring a cast of local professionals, Ricci Harnett, who's previous credits include '28 Days Later' and 'Rise of the Foot Soldier', makes his Beckett debut as 'Clov'; while Peter Benedict stars as 'Hamm', who's long list of theatre credits range from 'The Jew of Malta' (Donmar Warehouse) to 'Satyricon' (Phoenix & Off Broadway)
