Community Dog Show - Friends of Brunswick Park (Camberwell) presents Scruftd

Friends of Brunswick Park today announced that Scrufts, its annual dog show, has a very special prize for this year's 'Best in Show'. Menna Jenkins, a Camberwell artist who specialises in dog portraits, will create an original drawing of the community dog show's overall winner. Taking place in Brunswick Park, Camberwell from 1pm on Saturday 29th June 2013, Scrufts is open to all dogs – of any size or shape!

The Scrufts dog show features seven fun categories including Best Puppy, Best Rescue Dog, Best Child Handler and Musical Sit. The winner of each category will be entered for Best in Show and the big prize. In addition, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will be on hand to provide free microchipping and doggy advice as well as offering agility sessions for dogs – and their owners.

Radha Burgess, chair of Friends of Brunswick Park said: “Our dog shows are a great fun day out for dogs and their families. We don't take it too seriously. After all, this is Scrufts, not Crufts. But we’re really excited to be able to offer such a memorable top prize at our community event. Menna is a wonderful artist and what dog owner wouldn't want an original portrait of their best friend?”

Menna Jenkins received her Masters from Camberwell School of Art in 2012. Since then, she has rapidly gained a reputation for her exquisite dog portraits. She is the winner of numerous awards including the Helen A Rose Bequest, The Printroom Award 2012, The Zenith Award, The Jealous Gallery Graduate Prize and the Curwen Gallery Hot off The Press Graduate award.
