Kitchen Party Presents - Drink What You Sow

On Saturday 29th June and Saturday 6th July, Kitchen Party will welcome Londoners with green thumbs and discerning tongues to a very special seasonal workshop for cocktail and gardening enthusiasts.

Hosted by cocktail connoisseurs Bourne & Hollingsworth, Drink What You Sow will use every day ingredients easily sourced from your garden, allotment or greenhouse to make delicious, sophisticated cocktails. From the mint on your windowsill to the fennel in your vegetable patch, this master-class offers enthusiasts a chance to experiment with different flavours and techniques, and create one-off cocktails that will impress any nosy neighbour.

Guests will be greeted with a seasonal welcome cocktail before seating themselves for the first demonstration. Bourne & Hollingsworth’s own Ashley Clarke will start the session by lifting the veil on principal cocktail making techniques, from the perfect shake, to choosing the right glass, and matching spirits with complementary flavours.

All guests will be asked to bring along one ingredient which they grow themselves, or find on sale at their local green-grocers, and to inform Kitchen Party of their chosen ingredient by 12pm on the Friday preceding the workshop. Ashley will select the eight most exciting ingredients and demonstrate at least one practical and tasty way to incorporate each into a cocktail. Every cocktail will be sampled by the guests, with the most popular invention from each session making its way onto the Kitchen Party menu.

For the final part of the workshop, guests will be encouraged to get stuck in and mix their own concoctions. Everyone will be supplied with a tray of ingredients with which to mix, stir and shake their way to the perfect home-grown cocktail.
