Turn the clock back to the 1980s and celebrate everything from the decade that brought you 'Purple Rain' and the Brat Pack movies at this fortnightly club, which pitches up in north and south London.
Midnight A Go-Go is a monthly club night dedicated to the 1980s.
It celebrates one of the most culturally distinct and innovative musical eras in history. It pays homage to the decade that gave birth to MTV and saw subsequent rise of a pop culture that mixed Hip Hop with Pop. It was a time when music, fashion, movie stars and advertising collided to create a look and sound that lives on and is copied by new artists today.
It’s resident DJs - Matthew and Christine - play the finest 80s electro, synth pop, classic hip hop as well as new bands that are soaked in influence from the era.
The result is a hazy sunset filled journey that takes you from Twin Shadow to Simple Minds via Prince and Grandmaster Flash.
You can find it on the first Friday of the month at the Lost Angel in Battersea and the fourth Saturday of the month at The Waiting Room in Stoke Newington.
