Wimbledon Bookfest 2013 runs from 28 September -13 October with events taking place in many venues around Wimbledon.

The seventh annual Wimbledon BookFest is back this autumn with its biggest line-up yet, showcasing literature’s leading names and local talent. Confirmed headliners include: an evening with comedian, actor, presenter and writer Michael Palin; ballerina and author Darcey Bussell taking a look back at her career through photographs; Wayne Hemingway discussing business and creative industries for young people; Man Booker Prize winning novelist, dramatist and screenwriter Roddy Doyle, who will be in conversation with BBC Radio 4 presenter and BookFest regular, James Naughtie; and a family sing-along with Cerys Matthews.

An enormous, specially commissioned Big Tent on Wimbledon Common will provide the focal point for this year’s festival. In addition to the main BookFest strand, there will also be film screenings, live music and comedy events (including stand-up from Shappi Khorsandi and Simon Evans), under the BookFest Extra banner.

The children’s programme is as strong as ever with events including: the hugely successful The Wimpy Kid Show; ‘The Curious World of Eoin Colfer’ a heart-stopping show from the bestselling author of Artemis Fowl; and storytelling and singing with the Common’s most famous residents, The Wombles.
