Event to Celebrate the Art and Culture of Northeast India

Little is known about the remote tribal Northeast region of India. The stories are now coming to life as animation films.Join us for this celebration of the art and culture of Northeast India.
The event will include:

A short animated folktale from Nagaland ("Man Tiger Spirit").

A brief introduction to the "Tales of the Tribes" animation project that focuses on Northeast India, with a presentation of articulated animation models for "Abotani", the film from Arunachal Pradesh by professional animator, Jonathan Marchant.

Dr Bianca Son will give an introduction to the art and culture of northeast India, to be followed by an open discussion on adapting traditional tribal art and culture for digital media.
