Once upon a time.....

The fantastical world of princesses, talking animals and magic is brought to life this summer in this production of fairytales from around the world.

A cast of young, international performers will take you a magical journey through an enchanted forest, where you will encounter all sorts of marvellous creatures from trolls, to princesses.

This year’s fairytales explore the world of talking animals that live their lives deep in the forest. The performances will include the age old fairytale of The Three Bears (an adaptation of Grimms original), a story about a family of bears that live in the woods where all sorts of unexpected guests try to come into the bear’s cottage; a traditional Swedish fairytale called A Mouse to Wed, which tells the tale of a young prince who needs to find a bride but all he can find is a mouse; and the story of The Three Little Pigs, who have to do their best to protect themselves from the big bad wolf.

SOFA productions has a long tradition of performing at the Edinburg Fringe Festival, and has now been running this annual children’s fairytale production called Once Upon A Time for a number of years with great success and enthusiastic reviews.
