Trudy Kerr is renowned as one of the UK’s top jazz vocalists, appearing regularly at prestigious venues and festivals around Europe and her native Australia. With 10 widely acclaimed albums to her name, including her latest, terrific, and brilliantly named, "Ted & Gladys - The Rhythm of Life" plus a successful vocal teaching career, she is one of the scene’s busiest singers. Performing gorgeous mainstream jazz with a bias towards bop, her highly skilled, nimble voice is a real pleasure to hear. Trudy’s Special Guest this evening is the internationally acclaimed and award-winning saxophonist Ed Jones. Over the last 20 years or so Ed has established himself as one of the most innovative and sought after sax players on the scene. His muscular and highly accomplished bop-influenced tenor playing has been featured in a wide variety of contexts, most notably with the Jazz crossover groups “Us 3” and “Incognito”. But his Jazz credentials are just as solid, with work alongside artists such as George Benson, Dianne Reeves, Horace Silver and Claire Martin. With an incredible band featuring Tom Cawley (Acoustic Ladyland, Curios) on piano, Geoff Gascoyne (Jamie Cullum, Georgie Fame) on bass and Mark Fletcher (Liane Carroll, Ronnie Scott) on drums this gig is highly recommended.

“Trudy Kerr has moved to the front rank of UK singers” Musician Magazine;
“engaging performer” The Stage;
“Ed Jones..a formidable saxophonist” Jazz UK
