'Our physical resemblance is striking' says wealthy sophisticate Vincent to his construction worker brother Clay in the opening to Scott McGehee & David Siegel's 1993 film Suture.
The fact that Clay is muscular and black and Vincent is slight and white is only the beginning of Clay's problems as he forced headlong into a disorientating nightmare of bizarre stand-offs, explosions, lost memories, Lacanian psychoanalysis and Johnny Cash songs.
Executive produced by Steven Soderbergh, Suture is a visually-arresting, witty and gripping thriller which borrows freely from B-movies, the American avant-garde and starkly shot film noir to carve out a psychologically troubling niche all its own.
