Summer holiday family activities

Ever wondered what it would be like to work on a nature reserve? Now’s your chance to find out. Our wetland wardens work outdoors every day, whatever the weather, to make sure that WWT London Wetland Centre is the perfect place for animals, birds and plants to live.

Join the junior wetland warden team for an hour and help build animal refuges.

You'll also be able to grab a net and join in with one of popular pond dipping sessions, get creative in our nature crafts, and take part in our activity of the day.

11.00 Otter feeding
Watch our family of otters receive their morning treat and learn more about them. Otters, World Wetlands.

11.30 - 12.30 Nature Crafts
Hear an entertaining story about one of the creatures that live in our ponds, then have a go at making one. Pond Zone.

11.30 Guided Tour
Learn about the history and wildlife of London Wetland Centre with one of our knowledgeable guides. Meet in Courtyard.

13.30 - 14.00 Pond dipping
Grab a net and discover which animals live in the pond. Pond Zone

14.00 Otter feeding
Watch our family of otters receive their afternoon treat and learn more about them. Otters, World Wetlands.

14.30 - 15.15 Activity of the day
Join us to see some of the wild highlights on the reserve. See blackboard in Courtyard for details.

14.30 Guided tour
Learn about the history and wildlife of London Wetland Centre with one of our knowledgeable guides. Meet in Courtyard.

15.00 Bird feed with a warden
Join our wardens as they feed the beautiful birds in World Wetlands, kept for conservation purposes. Meet in Courtyard.

15.45 - 16.45 Be A Wetland Warden
Become a Wetland Warden for an hour and help build animal refuges. Meet in Courtyard.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
