Marie Jaermann and Sam Brown present a selection of works for soprano and guitar. Music by Villa-Lobos, Bach, Tarrega, de Falla, Ponce, Lauro and the world premiere of COIL by Ryan Cockerham.

A young musician regarded as an “engaging and popular performer”, classical guitarist Sam Dixon Brown has been commended by the likes of Leo Brouwer, Stepan Rak and Pavel Steidl, and a string of performances in the UK and abroad have earned his playing a reputation for “flair, personality and confidence”.

Born in Lausanne to a family of musicians, soprano Marie Jaermann is studying with Sally Burgess at the Royal College of Music, under a scholarship from the Leenaards Foundation. She has worked regularly with Michel Corboz and the Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne since 2009, both as a soloist and as a chorister. Marie sings with the AbChordis Ensemble, who won the competition Résidences Jeunes Ensembles 2012 in Ambronay.
