The Peckham Peace Picnic is a free arts, music and community festival celebrating urban ease, summertime vibes and involvement in the arts.

Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a warm festival blend of bands and musicians, DJs and dance, be entertained by storytelling events woven throughout the festival, join in the Garden Games, get involved in picnic themed-art workshops in the gallery, and partake of the wares of local artisans and food traders in the square.

Music will take centre stage in the square and will celebrate the best of local talent, with something to get everyone on their feet including: sparky electro pop, DJs from Represent FM, soulful singer songwriters, uplifting carnival soca vibes, Spanish flamenco guitar, and critically acclaimed vocalist Eska; who, with international reputation for her magnetic live performances, is billed by BBC6 as a potential contender for this year’s Mercury prize shortlist.

The Peckham Peace picnic is part of Southwark Council’s The Elephant and the Nun festivities. The ten-day long event celebrates the local communities from Elephant and Castle, Walworth, Camberwell, Peckham and Nunhead, and their vibrant community culture.

On Saturday 17 August, as well as Peckham’s Peace Picnic there will also be other free events around the borough such as; the Latin-American centered Azucar Flower Festival in Elephant and Castle, the locally youth produced music and dance event Combonation taking place in Camberwell and Peckham Rye's Village Hall Experience with everything from a jumble sale to a disco all under one roof!

The creative content for Peckham Peace Picnic is curated by Peckham Space, a local arts organisation that produces new artwork for and with the people of Peckham, funded by Southwark Council.
