Introduced by A.D. Miller
Celebrated food writer Anya Von Bremzen’s ‘The Art of Soviet Cooking’ is a tragicomic memoir about food, family, memory and exile. It tells the tale of three generations surviving a tumultuous century and the central place food – or the lack of it – has in 20th century history and family life. According to Heston Blumenthal it is ‘heartbreakingly poignant and laugh-out-loud funny’. Von Bremzen will read extracts from her book and discuss. Authentic tasty Russian recipes inspired by the book will be prepared for the event by top chef, Tatiana Khassine of Zakuski, London.
