Streatham Food Festival brings three days of foodie fun to South London.

Streatham High Road is opening its doors to food lovers of all ages and persuasions, as the fourth annual Streatham Food Festival comes to town.

This year’s festival includes a full range of events and activities, from a local food tour to a family day of stalls and workshops, a Sunday Food Fair and two special evening events – a waste food pop-up restaurant and a supperclub featuring sustainable food. As a true celebration of all that’s great about food in Streatham, it promises to be a community food festival like no other!

The weekend kicks off with an invitation to “take a food tour of the world in Streatham”, with taster menus available in over 20 local eateries on Friday and Saturday. This is the perfect opportunity to try something new – or to revisit old favourites – with dishes priced between £2 - £5.

Chair of the InStreatham BID, Richard Coltart says: “The festival is a brilliant way of celebrating all that Streatham has to offer in its diverse and delicious food culture and the Food Tour is a fantastic way of bringing people together to promote the businesses in our wonderful town.”

The festival also offers the chance to taste the delicious offerings of Streatham’s local bakers, cake-makers, growers and juicers as many local businesses will be selling their food and drink at two daytime events on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th. Families won’t want to miss the Good Food Day on Saturday, and there’s something for everyone at the Sunday Food Fair on Streatham Green, with a wide selection of sweet treats, spicy bites and savoury delights on offer.

This year’s festival has a strong sustainability focus, as Festival Director Pauline Milligan explains: “We want our food to be good for the planet, our waistlines and the local economy. So we’re inviting you to get your hands dirty at our food-growing sessions, indulge in our waste-food feast, treat yourself at our sustainable supperclub, and be inspired at our Good Food Dayworkshops.”

Many local businesses are taking part including local fishmonger and delicatessen Fish Tale. Owner Mina Roshan says: “The Streatham Food Festival gets better and better! Fantastic to see sustainability as an issue as this is very important to us. We will have a stall at the Good Food Day as well as one at the Sunday Food Fair - we look forward to seeing you there!”
