Oxford Street Christmas Lights Switch-On

Thursday 6th November will see the streets of the West End sparkle as family favourite department store John Lewis hosts the traditional 55th annual Oxford Street Christmas lights switch-on.

Tens of thousands of shoppers are expected to watch the spectacular ceremony supported by over 300 Oxford Street retailers and which will see a magnificent display light up the legendary shopping mecca, marking the launch of the 2014 Christmas season.

Helping light up the world famous Oxford Street lights will be the nation’s sweetheart Chery Fernandez Versini. There will also be live performances from heartthrob boy band Rixton, singer-songwriter Jess Glynne and the cast of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

For the first time ever, Oxford Street will launch the ‘Talent Starts Here’ national competition. This unique digital campaign will offer an aspiring star act of the future the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of the line-up at the famous lights switch-on.
