Human Farm
Works by cyrusNONAME
An exhibition curated by Franco la Russa
Private view: Friday 8th November 7pm - 9pm
Greed never ceases. “Human Farm” is a collection of works by cyrusNONAME that reflects on capitalist exploitation. Borrowing from Marxist theories, the artist underpins the social struggle for justice in a world based on free market and mediatized culture. “Human farm” is the maze individuals navigate through to make sense of the illusion of power and achievement set out by the ruling class. Dark and spontaneous they embody our social condition, but they also impose their presence and awareness against an uncertain future.
cyrusNONAME is an artist born in Hong Kong at the end of the colonial era; a witness to the city's apocalypse and void of identity, he is an artist with no name.
He graduated in graphic design from Caritas Bianchi College of Careers and he worked in advertising and graphic design for seven years.
His distorted and colorful labyrinths of lines set against unsettling shades of grey backgrounds represent a provocative portrayal of world’s absurdity.
