Following a successful first edition, SCHOOL DINNERS returns to the Central Foundation Boys’ School in Shoreditch on 30th November, taking guests ‘back to school’ for an exquisite four course meal topped off by music, entertainment and performances from some of the nations finest and funniest minds.
This term's timetable sees actress and comedian Gemma Whelan (Game Of Thrones, One Man Two Guvnors) hosting, reprising her celebrated role as hilarious Headmistress, Chastity Butterworth. Award-winning ‘Submarine’ author Joe Dunthorne steps up as Head of English for the evening whilst Music And Movement is in the incomparable (thank goodness) hands of tap-dancing enthusiast Jenny Fawcett (comedian Louise Ford) who'll teach us the 'scuff and brush'. Over in Poetry Corner will be the slam poet champion and poetry workshop facilitator Hollie McNish. More incredible teachers, speakers and raconteurs will be announced in the coming weeks.
School Dinners is brought to you by the people behind London's best literary event, Book Slam, and masters of the pop-up, Cult Events. Fuelled by the belief that education can be wasted on the young, SCHOOL DINNERS will be a unique night of gastronomy and enlightenment, while also providing much-needed funds for an impressive local school.
