Home Is …

A fund raising event organized by 3rd year LSBU (BA) Digital Photography Students

Third year Digital Photography students at London South Bank University are holding an exhibition and fundraising event at the Waterloo Graffiti Tunnels, Leake Street from 18:00 till 20:00 on Wednesday the 27th November 2013.

Throughout the month of November the students will be collecting donations and thoughts on what ‘Home Is…’ alongside instant portraits that will be used during the event in an interactive display. Also exhibited will be photographs that explore the spaces individuals inhabit and leave behind when they have no place to call home.

The students will be out on the streets of London taking instant portraits, and collecting donations, that will be exchanged for an invitation to the exhibition where guests are then encouraged to take home their portrait at the end of the exhibition.

All funds raised will be donated to ‘Crisis Skylight Bermondsey’, a temporary project located in south east London running from July 2012 till March 2014. Crisis Skylight Bermondsey works with other local services, it provides a 'next step' for homeless and vulnerably housed people who are ready to enrol in a more intensive curriculum helping them towards employability and self reliance. It promotes a higher level of study for the creative arts and practical programmes for vocational skills.

The students invite you too come to this unique street art space and show your support for the thousands of people sleeping rough in London each year.
