The truffle season is well and truly upon us, and in case you didn’t know, Fortnum & Mason was the first store in London to stock Italian white truffles this year. Now, the esteemed London store is delighted to welcome the Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett to its Fountain Restaurant to create a sumptuous six-course menu that embodies the wondrous qualities of white truffles.

On the night of the event Fortnum’s will be selling white truffles, the world’s most prized and expensive ingredient, at unbeatable prices. The White Truffle Extravaganza evening is sure to live long in the memory, and on the palate.

Angela Hartnett is English-born but of Italian ancestry, and is known to gourmets as the inspirational chef at the Connaught and Murano in Mayfair. To the wider public, her cookbooks and appearances on popular television programmes such as The Great British Menu have confirmed her place amongst the great creative chefs of her generation.

Commenting on the upcoming event, Angela said: “ The White Truffle is one of the remaining seasonal foodie delicacies. To get the opportunity to cook and create a menu based on this amazing product was something I couldn’t pass up.”

This has been a brilliant year for white truffles due to the larger than average rainfall during the spring coupled with a very warm summer. The white truffles Angela will cook with come from the Le Marche region of Italy.

There are two types of tickets available for the event. The first option is the dinner menu - £150 per person, and the second is the wine tasting menu - £50 per person.
