At a time when there is much debate about how London’s airports can expand in future, Heathrow Airport’s Director of Policy & Political Relations, Nigel Milton, will be outlining Heathrow’s new vision for increasing the UK’s aviation capacity.
In his public lecture, Nigel will argue that Heathrow’s submission to the Airports Commission to deliver the long-term capacity and connections for growth which the UK needs follows a rigorous assessment of a wide range of options.
Nigel will also outline the ten commitments which Heathrow is making if the Government supports a third runway, how these proposals differ from the proposals of the past, and how they plan to balance the country’s need for international connections to emerging markets with the impact on local communities.
Nigel Milton leads Heathrow’s public affairs and community relations teams, co-ordinates Heathrow’s position on policy issues and manages Heathrow’s relations with politicians, government officials, local authorities, business groups, and local communities. He joined Heathrow from Virgin Atlantic and prior to that was Private Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Transport, John Prescott, between 1998 and 2000.
Wine and canapés will be provided after the lecture.
