This is the place to be if you like to say 'I saw it here first!' or want to see how comedians get their material pin-sharp for the circuit and TV shows like Mock the Week. Come to the Wenlock and Essex on Essex Road, Islington every Monday night to see the brightest comedians around, alongside comedy legends. Sure to attract the comedy aficionado, this is a intimate setting for an audience of around 60. The night was founded on the need for a new material night for pro acts in the early part of the week. Tickets are just £5 in advance and you get around 8 acts (or occasionally fewer doing longer slots) and the show often features special guests who frequently appear on TV.
