This course will present simple ways to develop our empathy and compassion for ourselves and those around us—at home, at work and in every aspect of our lives. It will unravel some of the myths about compassion and reveal how through cultivating our natural capacity for compassion, we can discover the strength and resilience to meet challenges head-on and to lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives. With great clarity, warmth and humour, Andrew Warr - a senior instructor who has taught internationally - will skillfully guide people through the teachings and practices, and show how these can be applied to our everyday lives in a spirit of open enquiry relevant to those of any spiritual tradition or none. Cultivating Compassion runs over four days.

Scientific research increasingly recognises the importance and benefits of meditation to a healthy body and mind. Following the excess of the festive season, what better way to start 2014 than by making a new year’s resolution to learn to meditate? From a starter course to one aimed at those wishing to find out more, the Rigpa Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Centre, situated five minutes from Kings Cross.
