Join this month’s CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle, a fun guided cultural walk for mental and physical wellbeing, which will celebrate LGBT History month with a sashay through the queer history of Southwark!

En route, we will stop for short talks, games and frolics, discover the hidden histories of local LGBT people, and how they were represented in old ballads, songs and poems. We will also hear about the radical history of the Brixton Faeries and stories of ‘passing’ men and women, as well as visit the site of London's first gay disco and the Cross Bones Cemetery. There will also be the chance to try your hand at Voguing and learn about the secret gay language of Polari. FANTABULOSA!

The walk starts at Maudsley Hospital and ends at The Cross Bones Cemetery SE1, in Redcross Way, near London Bridge with a talk on the Cemetery’s history, Southwark Geese and Outcast Dead.

The walk is accessible to wheelchair users and people with disabilities. The walk leaders wear orange high-viz vests and rucksacks. Everybody welcome.

Call CoolTan Arts on 07985 658443 if you cannot find the walking group on the day.
