Memory Box Social, 1986 To 1999 Acid House Classics With Trevor Fung And Robin Ball

If there was one weekend in this bleak Winter where it would be fully appropriate to immerse yourself in memories of the Summer of Love, the hazy days of early raves, in a time when illegal parties replaced festivals and everyone loved everyone... then surely it should be the weekend when St Valentine rears his big old heart shaped face.

At Memory Box Social this kind of behaviour happens on a regular basis, but for this special weekend of love we’ve invited a true originator of the scene we call House... Trevor Fung.

Trevor Fung was an old soul boy who mentored Paul Oakenfold, used Carl Cox as a warm up DJ and introduced the fabled four (Paul Oakenfold, Danny Rampling, Nicky Holloway, Johnny Walker) to Ibiza.

If there’s one DJ who can truly teach us the history of ‘Classic and Acid House’ then its Trevor Fung. And on this night he’ll be playing some of the classics with a modern twist. “You may know the tunes but some of the records I’ll be playing are demos that have never seen the light of day or remixes and re-edits that you wont have heard before.” says Trevor.

Pulling out the old gems alongside Trevor is Memory Box creator, Robin Ball whose passion and knowledge of electronic music both old and new inspired him to start the Memory Box nights.
Memory Box Social is the more intimate off-shoot of Memory Box. In its inaugural year, Memory Box has captured and celebrated defining moments in the last few decades of electronic music. Delving deep into its rich history, Memory Box trawls the archives to produce a broad selection of sonic memoirs to enlighten, inspire and educate a new generation.
