This is the place to be if you like to say 'I saw it here first!' or want to see how comedians get their material pin-sharp for the circuit and TV shows like Mock the Week. Come to the Wenlock & Essex on Essex Road, Islington every Monday night to see the brightest comedians around, alongside comedy legends. Sure to attract the comedyaficionado, this is a intimate setting for an audience of around 60. The night was founded on the need for a new material night for pro acts in the early part of the week. Tickets are just £5 in advance and you get around 8 acts (or occasionally fewer doing longer slots) and the show often features special guests who frequently appear on TV.
