2012 Music Nova Scotia Female Artist Recording of the Year
New Album - Sleeping With A Stranger - UK release Dec 2013

Christina is a Canadian Singer-Songwriter, musician and performer. Her music achieves an effortless union between alt-country and rock with pop-sensibility.

An eminent singer songwriter and storyteller, she has released five albums on her independent Canadian label Come Undone Records. Having opened for Wilco while living in Austin TX, she returned to the Canadian East Coast to dig her heels into the Music Business and formed an independent music label to manage her touring and recording schedule.

With grand production, close harmonies and gorgeous melodies Sleeping With A Stranger is Christina’s newest award winning album, and reflects the artists coming of age lyrically and musically. Martin’s honesty keeps you coming back to her songs, whether she’s singing about some personal pain or delight, or a stranger’s story she has found on the road.

In the song Sally you’ll find the heartbreak of a waitress in Penticton, who bared all in a ten minute talk. Then there’s Marina, a character from Martin’s days in Austin TX, trying to run away from her heart. Someone is always searching for safety, striving for happiness against the odds, celebrating love and dealing with sadness. She can pop it up nice, too.

“This is a singer-songwriter who observes, feels, does not judge, and relays what she finds – “not good at keeping secrets,” she even admits. With a voice high, strong and bittersweet, the affecting Nova Scotian sings of search, vulnerability and the concept of home.” - The Globe and Mail ~ Brad Wheeler 3⁄4 Stars
