Lunchtime FourPlay Feeds
London’s Daytime Theatre Habits

White Room Theatre’s Bite-Size Plays, creators of 5 star, press acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe favourite ‘The Big Bite-Size Breakfast’, and Sky Arts ‘Bite-Size Plays’ introduce Lunchtime FourPlay, a series of ‘menus’ of short form productions through the year. Performed as part of the St. James’ Studio Lunchtime Theatre programme, each menu will consist of four ten-minute comedy plays at a time (“Laugh out loud funny” ThreeWeeks), plus the occasional powerful mini drama, showcasing some of the best independent playwriting from London, the UK and worldwide.

In the coming months, the group will be bringing ‘menus’ of delicious plays from their award winning/nominated shows to London. The first menu will run lunchtimes from Monday 31 March to Friday 4 April. And for those who can’t escape at lunch, the menus are also available for breakfast, afternoon and dinner formats in venues of all shapes and sizes.

Nick Brice, Artistic Director of White Room Theatre said:

“I wanted us to offer something creative and fun, that businesspeople can also enjoy on their lunch break. The St James’ Theatre lunch programme means that they can take a break from their desk, and relax for 40 minutes, and return refreshed for the afternoon. They can enjoy their lunch and our delicious plays at the same time.

Audiences will not only be able to enjoy their lunch in an innovative setting, but they will be able to network with likeminded people for both business and social purposes, and will be refreshed and motivated for the afternoon.”

These events are also ideal for people with time to spare, who enjoy great theatre and who want to escape from the ‘smoke’ for a lunchtime.

Lunchtime FourPlay really is the epitome of high variety entertainment. The experience is low cost and low carbon, as well as highly charged.
