Rifco and Watford Palace Theatre present a weekend of the very best British Asian cinema, with film screenings, exclusive talks and special guests.
Day 1: Friday 28 February
The festival begins on Friday evening, with a chance to see exclusive clips of a new film in development: Amar, Akbar & Tony, and hear the writer-director and cast talk about the film.
This will be followed by a talk with actress & writer Meera Syal and a screening of the film adaptation of her self-penned book Anita & Me.
Day 2: Saturday 1 March
On Saturday afternoon we will be joined by one of the UK's most respected film-makers, Gurinder Chadha. As well as a chance to hear her talk about her work, we'll be screening Gurinder's first short film I'm British But... and two of her most-loved feature-length films: Bend it Like Beckham and Bride & Prejudice.
Day 3: Sunday 2 March
Actress & writer Harvey Virdi will be giving a talk in the afternoon about working on the critically acclaimed film Brick Lane – followed by a screening of the film.
In the evening, our final screening of the festival will be the popular sequel to East is East: West is West.
