On Tuesday 25 March Health Poverty Action presents the award winning documentary film ‘The Great Dance: A Hunter’s Story’ and photography exhibition ‘The San People of Namibia’ by esteemed South African photographer Eric Miller.
The San People are thought to be the world’s oldest race. Indigenous and semi-nomadic, their strong cultural traditions are different to the majority of the population, for which they have been discriminated against and marginalised.
‘The Great Dance: A Hunter’s Story’ examines the unique relationship between the San people and the harsh landscape of the Kalahari Desert. It is a raw and poignant story of survival, following three Bushmen as they set out to hunt a kudu using ancient methods.
Health Poverty Action has been working with the San people in Namibia to secure their health rights for over 20 years. This photography exhibition by Eric Miller, documents our work.
Health Poverty Action is an international development charity working to strengthen poor and marginalised people in their struggle for health.
