London's 6th Annual Maslenitsa 2014

Maslenitsa is the Russian Sun Festival – a celebration of the end of winter chills and the start of Spring, of warmth,
of hope, of growth. Not surprisingly, it is a particularly big deal in Russia!

On 2 March 2014, London will be celebrating the culmination of a week-long programme of Russian art and culture with our sixth annual Maslenitsa Festival on Trafalgar Square.

The event will offer a whole host of free, family-friendly activities, from stunning popular folk dancing groups to performances from contemporary artists. Live performances will include Russian Soul, one of the leading Russian folk groups, Ludmila Nikolaeva, the Russian 'People's Artist of Russia', Dina Garipova, winner of The Voice in Russia and Eurovision 2013 representative, the spectacular State Moscow Music Hall, Lube, one of Russia's legendary rock groups, and Dima Bilan, the best-selling Russian artist and winner of Eurovision 2008 as well as numerous MTV Music awards.
