‘Tenebre’ is Italian maestro Dario Argento's 1982 return to the giallo horror sub-genre which he popularised during the 1970s. The story follows an American writer promoting his latest murder-mystery novel in Rome, only to be embroiled in the search for a serial killer who has apparently been inspired by his book.

The film was originally released throughout Europe without any censorship problems, although later was classified and banned as a "video nasty" in the UK. Theatrical release was delayed and only in a heavily censored form under the title ‘Unsane’. We are screening the fully restored and acclaimed original version, with the influential soundtrack by Goblin.
