Free Cinema

Free Cinema aims to encourage conversation around the themes, content and message of film and its greater social reflection. Free Cinema explores the human ability to create and endure works and the reason why we relate to them. We will show work that challenges the conventional commercial form and that elicits reactions from within the audience by playing with social restrictions and attitudes. The films that we show will explore themes such as sex, violence, morality and boredom.

Free Cinema will introduce alternative works which audiences may not have seen before. Through personal interpretations and conversation with other members and guest speakers, the club will offer an opportunity to see film, subtexts and themes from multiple perspectives.

Join us from 6:30pm for our film screening, followed by tea & cake and a post-show discussion.
