Suzette Field invites you to don your finest monochrome attire, your tuxedo, ball gown or pantsuit, accessorised with hairpiece and costume jewellery, and twist, frug, hully gully and go go the night away in her recreation of what has become feted as the party of the century: Truman Capote's Black and White Dance, our March Masked Ball.
Performers include DJ Diddy Wah - the white-suited king of the black vinyl who will transport the ballroom floor back to Capote's golden era with his doo-wop, rhythm'n'blues and soul. Vicky Butterfly - a burlesque scion of the Viennese aristocracy will perform the a dance where white and black swans will meld. Kasai Masai - a Congolese combo and Captain Crop - beware all ye who descend into his dungeon of despair. Our golden servers have metamorphosized for the evening into black and white harlequins who will tempt you with a gastronomic offering of smoked salmon, char-grilled aubergine and fresh oysters.
