Royal Celebrity Cruises is delighted to announce that they are the lead sponsor of a special screening of the Brazilian film Reaching for the Moon at this year’s LGBT Film Festival (20-30 March 2014). The exclusive screening, taking place on Friday March 28th, will be one of the main highlights of the hugely popular film festival which is currently celebrating its 28th year. Guests at the special screening will not only get to enjoy a pre-screening cocktail reception, but will also get the chance to win 1 of 10 places at an exclusive lunch on board Celebrity Eclipse the next time she is docked at Southampton.

The BFI Flare: London LGBT Film Festival in partnership with Accenture®, offers a rich and diverse programme of international films and events from both established and upcoming talent over a 10 day celebration of LGBT cinema. Reaching for the Moon, directed by Bruno Barreto, is a biopic that tells the stunning, and often hard, real love story between the American poet Elizabeth Bishop and Brazilianb architect Lota de Macedo Soares. Set in Petrópolis, during the years of 1950 and 1960, the story coincides with the emergence of Bossa Nova and the construction and inauguration of the capital Brasilia.

In total, the festival will include over 50 features from around 20 countries; including award winning blockbusters Blue is the Warmest Colour and Behind the Candelabra.
