Contribute to a world record attempt on 3rd April by joining Mollie Hughes and Calum Mallory as they attempt to climb the height of Mount Everest (8,848 metres) within a 24 hour period on the Vertical Chill indoor ice climbing wall at Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports, Covent Garden, London. It will involve climbing the wall a staggering 1,106 times, whilst battling the physical strain of climbing vertical ice, sleep deprivation and the -10c temperature.

And you can be involved. Throughout the day Vertical Chill ice wall instructors, with the help of guest instructor and one of Britain's most well known climbers Neil Gresham, are offering 20 minute taster sessions. You need no previous climbing experience - just a bit of determination to reach the top! You will climb alongside Calum and Mollie and however many metres you cover will go towards the target 8848m, thereby contributing to the record attempt. These taster sessions are priced at just £10 for 20 minutes and on a turn up and climb basis.

The challenge ends with an evening of adventure when Jon Gupta of JCG Expeditions talks about the effects of high altitude mountaineering and his experience of Everest. There will also be the premiere screening of a short mountaineering film directed and shot by award winning film maker Mark Leary starring Mollie and Calum, along with a fundraising auction and raffle where you can bid for some exciting products and experience days.
