On Sunday the 20th of April The Big Smoke Family will be taking over the night at the upstairs bar at the legendary Ronnie Scott's in Soho. Fresh from recording their debut album, with new original music and after selling out their previous outing there, this is the the gig to watch in April.
The band:
Roy’s Big Smoke Family is a funky collective led by drummer Roy Pfeffer. The band play some of the greatest funk to come from New Orleans with original arrangements and a contemporary approach. All the while keeping it finger-snapping good!
RBSF have already made serious waves on the UK music scene. As well as having residencies at The Shoreditch, Charlie Wright’s, The Nola, The Archduke and regular appearances at the RichMix, 2012 saw the band play at some of the UK’s hottest festivals including the London Jazz Festival, Bestival and Secret Garden Party.
