You are invited to the greatest Shakespearean wedding of all time!

The salon:collective return with their 4th Shakespeare:Bites performance. Following successful shows combining Shakespeare scenes, monologues and sonnets, covering settings varying from the Occupy:Love protest camp, a Game Of Thrones-inspired army on the eve of battle, and an Orwellian asylum for Unhealthy Behaviour, we bring you Get Thee A Good Husband!

Get Thee A Good Husband merges Shakespeare's wittiest and spikiest characters in scenes exploring the insanity, hilarity and confusion surrounding marriage, courtship and sexuality:

Stag Dos that go too far, Hen Nights that unhinge, best men stalking bridesmaids, protective mothers, party poopers, delight and disaster, envy, pride and joy.

This unique compendium of eternal Shakespeare characters, spirited scenes and beautiful wordplay has been composed by Lizzie Conrad-Hughes especially for the students of the salon:collective as the climax of The Cockpit's popular Shakespeare:Bites course.

Expect tears of joy and heartache, with a dose of scheming and misunderstanding... for what is a wedding without drama?

What will become of sweet Hero & heroic Claudio? Or her spiky cousin, Beatrice, at odds with her wise-cracking Benedict? Can Katharina's feisty flirtation with party-man Petruchio really come to anything? Is there any hope for Bertram and Diana, or is it curtains for these seemingly star-cross'd lovers? And amid all these cross-purpose couples, what hopes of joy for Margaret, Hero's oldest and most loyal friend?

Directed by Dominic Kelly, this show culminates a course of eight sessions, covering Shakespeare tuition, acting technique, and an intense period of rehearsal. Get Thee A Good Husband aims to win your hearts - will you accept the proposal?

Shakespeare:Bites course #5 will be running 3rd September - 26th October 2014. Places sell-out quickly - book via thecockpit.org.uk/classes
